The Bruno Event Team has partnered with the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation to host the Brett Favre Celebrity Softball Game in Appleton, Wisconsin to raise money for disabled and disadvantaged children.  The annual event features the Green Bay Packers Offense vs. the Green Bay Packers Defense in a softball exhibition.  Brett Favre and his wife, Deanna, founded the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation which has donated more than $3 million to charity.

The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) came to Birmingham, AL, July 13-16, 2006. This Pro Beach Volleyball event, which was part of the 2006 AVP Crocs Tour, was held at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, AL and was televised on Fox Sports Net. Players included 2004 Olympic Gold medalists Kerri Walsh and  Misty May-Treanor, the legendary Karch Kiraly and Holly McPeak. The event drew more than 25,000 spectators over the four days. Due to a scheduling conflict regarding the proposed 2007 dates, Birmingham-Hoover will not be the site for the event in 2007.
